Successfully Helping Injured People in Montana for More Than 40 Years

Not long ago, a young man was riding his motorcycle through the streets of Billings. The Montana man’s evening cruise ended tragically at the intersection of Sixth Street West and Grand Avenue. An SUV collided with the motorcycle, which caused the biker to sustain multiple injuries that would ultimately claim his life.

Local police blocked off multiple roads to conduct an investigation. Reports don’t explain exactly what caused the motorcycle accident, but a man who lives near the intersection said he heard the crash and hurried to the scene. He immediately noticed the severity of the biker’s injuries.

The same onlooker indicated that the intersection where the crash occurred is known to be dangerous, and he was aware of several accidents that happened at the same location.

If this particular intersection is indeed historically dangerous, it may be worthwhile to determine whether or not signage or design flaws contribute to the crashes. For example, unclear or deceptive road markings could be contributing to accidents. This finding could open up options to pursue legal claims against the public authority responsible for maintaining the road, which can be complicated.

As the victim’s loved ones consider what they can do, it may be beneficial to determine if wrongful death claims are in line. In many motor vehicle accidents, only one party is considered responsible for the crash, but this doesn’t mean additional parties can’t be held accountable. An experienced personal injury attorney could sort through the details of an accident to determining what legal options are available.
