Motorcyclists are often not seen on the roadways due to their smaller sizes, but that isn’t something drivers can use as a defense when accidents take place. If you’ve been struck and hurt or have lost a family member to a driver’s negligence, you do have a right to seek compensation and even pursue a civil lawsuit. These people or their families may choose to seek compensation, just like you.
In this case, a motorcycle accident in Montana left two motorcyclists seriously injured. The accident took place on U.S. 2 at around noon on July 25. At that time, a Jeep SUV had been hauling a camper trailer along the highway when it failed to stop for two motorcyclists on the roadway. Police did not report on why the Jeep failed to stop.
The news reports that the driver and passenger of one of the motorcycles had to be taken to the hospital by an ALERT helicopter. The driver had been pinned or hurt badly enough to remain under the vehicle until the emergency responders arrived.
One Montana Highway Patrol trooper stated that it’s believed that the Jeep simply couldn’t stop fast enough to prevent the crash, and that the man trapped under the vehicle may have just been stuck where he was due to his injuries. He didn’t say what kind of injuries the man had suffered.
Traffic had been heavy during that afternoon, and road construction had been taking place. It’s not clear if that had anything to do with the crash. The news didn’t report if the driver of the jeep or the driver of the other motorcycle was injured. The medical conditions of the two victims were also not updated at the time of the report.
