Successfully Helping Injured People in Montana for More Than 40 Years

One of the worst things any parent in Montana could ever imagine is having to endure the death of their child. Parents work tirelessly to ensure that their children are safe from harm. Unfortunately, it is impossible for parents to protect their children from everything, as the reason behind a recent recall of a popular baby product shows.

About a week ago, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled the Nap Nanny — the second time since 2010. Despite some design changes and new labels to warn parents of potential hazards, the latest version of the Nap Nanny has apparently caused the deaths of five infants across the country. Most of the infants died after falling off of the sleeping surface.

Unfortunately, the Nap Nanny is not the only child-related product to be recalled recently. Montana parents may want to visit the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s website to view the full list of defective products that have been recalled. Because more children under the age of 14 die from unintentional injuries than anything else, knowing which products are unsafe could go a long way toward making sure your child is safe.

If a defective product does end up causing injury to your child, however, it is important to know that there are ways to take legal action. Companies — especially those who make products for children — are responsible for ensuring that their products are safe for use. When they fail to do that, an injured individual or his or her family may choose to file a personal injury lawsuit seeking compensation for damages.
