A Montana woman is facing drunk driving charges after she injured another driver in a head-on collision. The crash is another reminder of the dangers of drunk driving, and that people will eventually be held accountable for their reckless actions.

According to police, a 51-year-old woman was driving southbound on state Highway 2 northeast of the town of Kalispell, Montana, which is a few hours northwest of Gallatin County, when she crossed the center line and hit a jeep head-on. The accident happened at about 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6, and a Montana Highway Patrol officer said that weather did not play a role, and that roads were not slippery.

The injured woman had to be cut from her car, and she was hospitalized in stable condition. She is currently facing a charge of driving under the influence, and police ticketed her for driving on a suspended license and driving without proof of valid car insurance.

The other driver, whose gender or age is unknown, sustained minor injuries in the crash when her airbag deployed. He or she is lucky that the injuries were not more severe.

The crash is another important reminder that when driving, people have a responsibility to be aware of their surroundings and not put the safety of other drivers at risk.
